Welcome to Big Bad Con 2022!

We've got the badge data from BackerKit and the game submissions all processed. Now it's time to confirm it's all there!

Badge Verification

If you purchased a badge, have one through the scholarship, or from volunteering or running events, it should now show up on the site. You need a badge to sign up for events, join the small press showcase, and attend the con!

To verify your badge, go to bigbadcon.com and login (or click My Account if you're already logged in). You should see "You have a badge!" followed by the tags (such as GM, Volunteer, PaidAttendee, etc). It will look like this:

If you don't have a badge, you can attend in one of these three ways:

Event Verification

If you've submitted events on the schedule, through Games on Demand, or signed up for volunteer shifts, they should appear in your My Account window as well. Login (or click My Account if you're already logged in) to view them. Here's example:

If you don't see your events or shifts, let us know and we'll work with you to get them added to the system.

What's Next?

We're starting to schedule the events now. We'll email all the GMs and facilitators once the first schedule is drafted, and then share it with everyone. Here's the upcoming dates:

  • Schedule of events published 9/16
  • Sign ups begin 9/25 at 12PM PT

Hi all,

Very short update to remind folks that the BackerKit surveys are closing on 8/30. After that we'll export the data so we can activate badges on the Big Bad Con website, gather all your goodies (coffee, prints, Baba Yaga's totes), and schedule online games.

Greetings! 

(update re-released, hopefully with fewer typos).

We've just received approval from BackerKit to launch the pledge management campaign!

Here's what to expect next:

  1. We're launching a smoke text now to 5% of the backers. This smoke test is designed to find any errors in the campaign before they are propagated to all the backers.
  2. In 48 hours we'll send out the rest of the campaign surveys to everyone else. At the same time we'll open pre-orders for anyone who missed the Indiegogo campaign.

Some things to note about the surveys:

  • If you pledged multiple times, your pledges should all be combined into one. This was a manual process, so if anything looks off, please email [email protected] to let us know.
  • Pledge management is where you can add on additional badges, art cards, coffee beans, more. This applies to folks who missed the campaign too!
  • Finally, pledge management is where we'll collect badge information including your account name on bigbadcon.com so we can activate your badge there. If you don't have an account already, head over here to create one https://www.bigbadcon.com/create-account

Hello wonderful people,

Thanks to your incredible support we've hit our goal and ALL of our stretch goals as well! This year is going to be an amazing Big Bad Con, and that's because of your support. Thank you!

What happens next?

In August we'll begin pledge management in BackerKit. That's where you'll sepcify your Big Bad Con account for your badge, get information about scheduling online games, and sort out other details. 

In the meantime, here's a few things you can do to prepare:

  1. If you don't have one already, create an account on bigbadcon.com
  2. If you're interested in running events, head over here to Run an Event on the schedule, or here to run in Games on Demand,
  3. Book a room at the hotel.
